If you're struggling with your confidence you probably find that it stops you from achieving what you want in life. Maybe you know why you lack confidence; perhaps there is a specific reason or memories from the past, or even recent events that have had had an impact on your self-esteem.

It may be that you are struggling with your confidence due to a traumatic life event such as a bereavement or the end of a relationship. I can help you work through those events so that you can process what has happened and come out stronger, ready for a happier future.

If confidence has always been an issue, it is very likely caused by unhelpful and unwanted beliefs about yourself and how you fit into the world

Those beliefs live in your subconscious mind. These dictate all the decisions, feelings, choices, and actions of your everyday life.

When you discover, and let go of, these limiting beliefs and replace them with more healthy and positive ways of viewing yourself, your confidence will increase very quickly.

   
I've helped hundreds of people to overcome low self-esteem and confidence issues using a blend of counselling and therapy techniques: including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T), Transactional Analysis(T.A) and Talk Therapy.

I specialise in helping individuals and couples gain more confidence, better communication skills and happier relationships. I help people with relationships of all types:

I often think of relationships as being like a classroom. How we are with other people, how we think feel and behave is a reflection of what is going on within us. These are the habits and patterns we have formed, our beliefs and values deeply hidden in the subconscious.

Exploring our relationships then, provides us with an opportunity to become more self-aware and learn the lessons in life that can help us grow and become wiser beings.

Some of the common reasons we struggle in relationships are the following:

  • The impact of childhood experiences (our first relationships)
  • Limiting beliefs that cause us to keep making poor choices
  • Limiting beliefs that cause us to repeat the same sabotaging behaviours
  • Lack of assertiveness and boundaries
  • Lack of communication skills

Most of us have at least some limiting beliefs that get in the way of happy relationships. We form the majority of these beliefs in early childhood when we’re too young to understand how the world works. Those misguided ideas continue to live on in the subconscious, dictating how we think and behave in our relationships – until such time as we spot them, and do something about them.

Typical beliefs that sabotage relationships are:

  • I can't trust people
  • People always use me
  • I have to please and keep other people happy
  • I must be strong and not show my feelings
  • It's not good to ask for help
  • I should push people away before they reject me
  • I have to prove my worth

I draw on specific techniques according to your individual needs. These include:

    If you’ve been experiencing anxiety or panic attacks, you’ll know how overwhelming it can be. It can seem as though it’s taking over your whole life. But it doesn’t have to be this way. I’ve helped many people overcome anxiety.

    One of the things I hear often from new clients is that they want me to help them manage their anxiety. They believe that anxiety is something they have to put up with and learn how to cope with.

    However, in the vast majority of cases, anxiety is something that can be let go of completely. I’ve seen many, many clients overcome these distressing symptoms and go forward to lead happy, inspired and enthusiastic lives.

    Why am I having panic attacks?

    Anxiety begins when we have either a big trauma in life, or a number of smaller stresses that build up over time. It can show itself quickly, or lurk in the background for a long time, and then pop up when we’re going through a vulnerable patch.

    When stress gets locked in to your system, it shows up in distressing symptoms such as:
    overwhelming emotions, runaway thoughts, wanting to run away, your mind going blank, sometimes even getting really angry.

    Then there are the physical symptoms such as prolific sweating, ‘lump in your throat’, palpitations, dry mouth, shallow breathing, shaking …….and more.

    These are all normal symptoms of anxiety, but you don't have to put up with them. Anxiety can become a thing of the past

    (Its always a good idea to check with your doctor to rule out any underlying health issues that may be causing your symptoms)

    How will you help me get over anxiety?

    The mind and body work together in a constant state of interaction. We call this the body-mind. This is why we experience anxiety in physical symptoms in the body, as well as anxious thoughts in our mind.

    Thus in order to properly, and rapidly, overcome anxiety, we need to find a way to release stress from the body AND  learn to master those run-away thoughts

    People often associate trauma with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD experienced by those who have very intense experiences in extreme conditions such as war zones.

    However, many of us can also experience trauma in every day life events. We can also be carrying trauma from long ago events.

    Psychologists now describe Big Traumas and Small Traumas. Big Traumas are dramatic events such as such as a physical attack, child abuse, or a car accident.

    Small Traumas can be an event in childhood which leaves an emotional impact such as being left out of a group at school, shouted at by a teacher etc.

    Some of the symptoms of trauma are:

    •  Feeling intense unexplained fear in certain situations.
    •  Finding it hard to connect and trust in relationships
    • Re-experiencing the trauma through intrusive memories of past events, flashbacks, and nightmares
    • Feeling emotionally disconnected or numb – avoiding situations that are reminders of the trauma
    •  Difficulty sleeping and concentrating, feeling anxious, and being quick to irritation and anger

    How can you help me overcome Trauma?

    I use a number of methods to help my clients overcome Trauma and PTSD. Two of the most powerful of these, are Emotional Freedom Techniques EFT and Matrix Reimprinting. These are highly effective methods which help to access the subconsious.
